Hi Everyone,
How times fly. It was 5th September 2013 that I interviewed Mr Jamalludin, his brother Mr Li and Mr Ah Lok at Alor Pongsu. After releasing our fish into the ponds, we went to see the fisherman who makes our dream comes through. It was a beginning of a long and passionate journey. According to some people, the last wild fish that was caught in that area of Alor Pongsu was 2017!!! And the journey continues with Japanese arowana enthusiastes eager to learn more about arowana history and hopefully, making a positive impact on the arowana world.

We remain strong and convicted to preserve and conserve those endangered and marvellous fish. With your strong support and encouragement, together we can make arowana hobby more fun and exciting.

Hi guys

On 6th April 2022, to disseminate information about Asian Arowana in particular Malaysia Golden / Blue Arowana (MGA/MBA) to tropical fish hobbyists around the world, we gave 6 fully grown and mature MGA/MBA to a public aquaria known as The Top Boutique Aquarium (located at Komtar, Penang, Malaysia). By doing this, we sincerely hope that people around the world would come to known about MGA/MBA and to love them. When I was 8 years old, I went to Van Kleef Aquarium in Singapore. That’s where I fell in love with tropical fishs and bought my 1st aquarium set. I still have that aquarium at home today which in about 48 years old. Let us together bring the joy and love of tropical fish to the World and make this world a better place for you, me and all mankind.

Hi Everyone

As part of our effort to preserve and conserve Malaysian Blue / Golden Arowana (MBA / MGA), on 1st April 2022, we contributed 10 pieces of fully grown AND mature (more than 3 years old) MBA/ MGA to the government of Malaysia of which all were released into its wild natural habitat to help repopulate the wild population. We are ready and able to release on our own several batches of our arowana into the wild Kerian River, the original arowana natural habitat. Those fishes are currently placed in the mud pond waiting for the right people and /or organisation to assist us to insert GPS into the fishes AND people monitoring them via satellite for at least 1 year until they spawn in their natural habitat. As such, I urge those individual or organisation championing prevention of extinction and animal right groups to take up these challenges and do the right thing. Just call our founder directly. We don’t want AND are NOT in need of any funds from anybody in any way, pretext, manner or circumstances whatsoever. We just want to preserve and conserve something that we truly love.

Latest Update On 17th Feb 2022

Selective breeding involves choosing parents with particular characteristics to breed together and produce offspring with more desirable characteristics (www.yourgenome.org).

The world famous nishikigoi breeder, Sakai Fish Farm in Japan whose Kohaku Koi fish sold for USD 1.8 million in 2018 has their own Sakai Kohaku Koi bloodline i.e Donguri Bloodline and Sakura bloodline (as per Bloodline Chart). Through these bloodlines and selective breedings, Sakai Fish Farm has won numerous awards in the koi world. The nishikigoi industry in Japan took more than 1 century (>100 years) to develope nishikigoi unto what Japanese Koi is today “Work of Art”. Even after more than 3 generations, the nishikigoi breeders in Japan remains so humble and continue their quest to develope the “perfect” nishikigoi. Unbelievable passion for koi!! Why can’t we do the same for arowana??

While preserving and conserving the pure bloodlines of Selama and Bagan Samak, we have through out these 3 years especially during Covid 19 pandemic, via selective breeding, have produced several TGA own bloodlines in particular ponds 13, 23, 26 and 29. Just look at the father fish pictures taken during harvest. Although it will take many many more years to develope TGA bloodlines, we have started the process so that more arowana hobbyists around the world will come to love not just TGA arowana but arowana in general just like koi. Be assured that the common factors of TGA bloodlines are that their bloodline / genome are from the wild Kerian River and Bukit Merah Dam fishes i.e. the birth places of true Malaysia Gold / Blue arowana.

Happy & Blessed 2022 and CNY 2022 (Year of the Tiger)

It have been a very challenging 2020 and 2021 for most of us due to Covid 19. However, we are very optimistic that this year, 2022, will be the year where all of you can come to the farm to visit us and share our common love of arowana. I am ready to and will travel all over the world this year for holidays and to view personally your collections of TGA arowana, proudly bred and presented to the world with love.

2022 started with wonderful news. Pond 25 Selama Purebreed (F1) FC 0140 (17th January 2022) became a father fish again with 12 pieces of about 65 days old babies in his mouth. The last time he carried eggs was 18th July 2019!! Just look at the colours. Simply beautiful and magnificient.

On the same day, Pond 7 FC 1638 F1 became a father again. He carried 16 fully developed and free swimming babies. Pond 7 fishes are TGA Kerian Blue fishes. Their parents are from Pond 9, consisting the best arowanas from North and South of Peninsula Malaysia.

Yesterday, 27th January 2022, Pond 21 FC 0896 F1 (Selama purebreed) became a father fish for the very first time with 14 healthy and strong babies (about 63 days) in his mouth. Pond 21 fishs are from Pond 25 the children from many Selama purebreed father fishs. FC 0896 was the 1st batch of 44 babies!!! from Pond 25 born on 22nd August 2014. This historical and joyous day was fully recorded. This 1st harvest video of Pond 25 is well kept for serious hobbyists to see and appreciate. In TGA, unlike most arowana farms in the world, we record each and every harvest of the babies Not just for record purposes but to show to the new owners of TGA fishes so that they will love their fish even more.

May this 2022 (year of the Tiger) be the year where we can once again travel freely and do what we are unable to do for the past 2 years. Blessed New Year everyone.

Latest Update On 31th Oct 2021

Hi.
28th October 2021 will be a day to be remembered for a long time. At about 8.00am, our worker Raj notice, 5 baby arowana swimming freely (as per the pictures attached). They were feeding and exploring their surrounding happily. What was astonishing was that when the babies notice Raj, they all quickly swam back into the security of P9 FC 6126 mouth and their father disappeared into the pond swiftly with all the babies in his mouth. Imaging how wonderful if these scenes were recorded for people to see. This is a First in TGA history.

Another SIGNIFICANT FACT about this day is that Pond 9 FC 6126 carried eggs on 2nd September 2021 with 24 babies (about 33 days old). Only after 56 days later, on 28th October 2021, he became a father again carrying 4 full SWIMMING and HEALTHY babies. One baby apparently disappeared before harvest was completed! So what about the 60 days free swimming theory?

The Question is if we abuse the fish, can the fish MATED and carried babies in his mouth again in such a short time?? For those nincompoop who screams “animal abuse” and “animal cruelty” in that we arowana breeders “forcefully” remove the babies from the father’s mouth, this is the LIVING proof RECORDED IN VIDEOS for eternity that these people should get their facts correct first before “screaming animal abuse” and “animal cruelty”. In TGA, we are TRUELY AROWANA LOVER. We are not doing it solely for monetary gains. We intend and are preserving and conserving these magnificent fish from extinction. Please come to our farm to see for yourself. We are always open to TRUE hobbyist from around the world.

Latest Update On 28th Oct 2021

Hi every one,

We are very proud to inform that Bagan Samak fish is no longer critically endangered. Pond 28 FC 2306 (born via P19 FC 0674 on 10th February 2018) has produced 22 strong and healthy babies. A new record for TGA. P28 fishes are F2 fishes. Their parents are from P19 and the grandparents are 100% wild F0 fish from the village known as Bagan Samak located beside Kerian River. Just look at the pictures. Simply stunning and beautiful beyond descriptions. By just looking at them, we can enjoy the subtle beauty of life. With Covid-19 restrictions being slowly lifted all over the world, we hope that you guys can come over personally and experience the life in an arowana farm. A place where true hobbyists can gather together and share our common love for arowana.

Latest Update On 11th Sep 2021

Hi every one,

2nd & 3rd September 2021 were very special days in TGA history. After a very long period of waiting, P23 and P26 father fishes finally carried babies again. These are very special fishes as they are 100% TGA Kerian Blue fish born and raise in TGA itself. The last time P23 carried babies was 11th December 2020 and P26 was 11th September 2020. Yes, almost a year ago! Together with P8 and P9, we managed to harvest 187 babies. A record for TGA. If not for our deep love of these fishes, we would not have continued with arowana breeding. Although profitable, breeding arowana is NOT our main source of income for our group of Companies. Without deep passion for these arowana, we would have just sold the whole operation when somebody offered us a huge sum of money to take over our company last month. To preserve and conserve these fishes from extinction in the wild, we will continue to persevere until the day when we can release those precious jewels into the wild WITH enthusiasts / scientists monitoring each individually fishes release into the wild with GPS. Hopefully the joyful day will come soon when we can see purebreed arowana swimming in Kerian River once again. TGA. We preserve and conserve.

Latest Update On 13th Aug 2021

Wow wow wow. Let me tell you about my one journey in the arowana world. In 2003-2004, BLC an arowana hobbyist turn breeder turn entrepreneur bought 2 wild F0 Bagan Samak fish from a fisherman from Bagan Samak village. In 2009, I was brought there by BLC and shown the house of the fisherman who sadly was not around. These fishes were placed in one of the 3 concrete ponds constructed beside BLC house. The fishs gave birth which was a MIRACLE in itself as that time I have NEVER heard of WILD FISH giving birth in CONCRETE ponds. Check out the video via YouTube: https://youtu.be/RJFYrxfbq5Y (In TGA, unlike most breeders/ dealers we share our knowledge so that fellow hobbyists around the world will be empowered with arowana knowledge. With knowledge, together we can control the outright lies, half truth, innuendo, hatters, idiots etc.) No secret in TGA as we are arowana hobbyists first.

In 2009, I bought 2 of these babies from BLC and place them in Pond 4. On 5th August 2017, Father fish FC 0752 carried babies (Yes, 8 years later!!!) 26 eggs at stage of development (SOD) 9 days old!!!!!!! (at this stage in life one can only see an embryo (just like human at about 3 months old) I was super super happy to see the PUREBREED Bagan Samak baby that I bought 8 years earlier becoming a father. Because of over joyed and such over bearing happiness, I accidentally cross the red line in spending too much time taking pictures and videos. The fish died 4 hours later. Because of such emotional high and sudden low in such a short period of time, I did not want to remember such agony and pain that I went through that day until recently.

Because of such fragile and complicated stage of development of the babies at 9 DAYS old, it took knowledge AND a miracle for the yoke to developed into an embryo, and from embryo into babies and free swimming about 60 days later. Most babies would not have made it in the natural world. The same goes to us. We have 2 babies who couldn’t swim, cannot eat like the rest of their siblings. While other people would have just throw the 2 babies away or worst, feed them to big arowanas, we persevere by hand feeding each fish, 1 worm at a time. Sadly, after about 2 weeks later, these 2 fishs refuse to eat at all. Instead of throwing them away, we divided Pond 16 into 2 separate ponds and we place these 2 fishs into Pond 16A, hoping for the best although the chance of living is less than 10% since they are not feeding at all by themselves and unable to swim at that time.

Last month, for some unknown reason, I decided to harvest Pond 16. To my pleasant surprise, I saw some beautiful fishs in Pond 16. I gave instruction to Tulsi, my farm manager to find 2 fishs bearing chip no 2203 and 2204, if they are still alive since August 2017?? To my surprise, not only both are alive, but FC 2204 becomes a father fish and carries 27 healthy babies. Tulsi can still remember vividly the details of the father fish and the date of birth because the fish made such an impression on him on 5th August 2017 that he can remember clearly till this day. All of us were taken by surprise. Just look at the video, Tulsi was not wearing any shirt at all. This is highly unusual and unprofessional while conducting a proper harvest (Farm’s policy ahem)! But this case was exceptional. In TGA we always cherish our fish because we known the story “how EACH fish journey began their life in this world”. I love my fish very much and I hope you all will love them as much as I love them. Let’s make our world a better place for us AND our beloved arowana. Together we can make a difference.

Latest Update On 12th Aug 2021

Hi everyone,

6th August 2021 was a very special day for us. Pond 4 and in particular, FC 0139 carry babies again. Pond 4 has not produce even one single baby arowana since 19th January 2020 (via FC 0336). Yes! More than one and half years ago without any babies whatsoever. I guess it might be due to Covid-19 Pandamic that hits even arowana!! (So Pond 4 collectors, you guys should be more proud of yourself for owning something rare and special)

The last time FC 0139 carry babies was 24th October 2019 and before that 15th April 2019. That’s were the only 2 occasions EVER that FC 0139 carry babies. For those who knows and have purchased them, one thing that ALL FC 0139 fishs have in common are their absolute stunning beauty and elegance. You know why? FC 0139 father is none other than P 24 FC 1343, TGA principal brooder. With the 8th August 2021 harvest, collectors of P 4 can have another chance in the future to acquire these precious jewels and enjoy their beauty at the comfort of their home. Below are some photos of FC 0139 children. Enjoy yourself.

Despite so much challenges arising from the setting up of the first completely unique and unconventional arowana farm in the world, heart aches and setbacks from the numerous rejections of our ideas to preserve and conserve the blue varieties of arowana by so call scientists and leaders of the world conservation organisations ,the constant unsubstantiated comments and ridicules from people who don’t know much about arowana not mentioning countless time of travelling early in the morning and late at night to and from the farm, it is all worth it as the blue varieties purebreeds are no longer critically endangered any more. Also, they are so many true hobbyists and collectors all over the world who truly loves and cherish their tga fish. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is worth it.

Happy Chinese New Year.

Shalom

14 th January 2021 was a historical and exciting day. Please to report that Bagan Samak fish is no longer critically endangered. We managed to harvest 14 babies from Pond 28 via father fish FC 1209. FC 1209 was born on 22 nd September 2017 in Pond 19 via FC 0674. We have the complete records and video clips for both momentous occasions. We are extremely proud that we are able to do our small part in preserving and conserving Selama and Bagan Samak Purebreeds. It is time to release some of TGA fishes back into the wild, their place of origin i.e. Kerian River. We need a team of enthusiastic and dedicated people to scout for a suitable site for the release AND to track those released fishes via GPS for at least a year until those fishes have their own offsprings in the wild. We are ready to release 2 separate batches. Please contact us if you desires to be part of this team. Remember, what we do in our life time, echo through out eternity. What is your legacy to humanity!
